This 8-hour continuing education course prepares Texas peace officers to take, enter and investigate missing-person and missing-child reports under Code of Criminal Procedure chapter 63, request and evaluate statewide alerts, recover and reunify missing persons using trauma-informed tactics, and recognize, interdict and document exploitation and human trafficking under the Penal Code. It satisfies the missing and exploited children training required by Occupations Code §1701.402(k) for intermediate and advanced proficiency certificates. To earn credit you must complete every module and its scenario activities, build a local victim-services resource for your own jurisdiction, and score at least 75% on the final examination.
